Number of half-empty Chicago public schools doubles, yet lawmakers want to extend school closing moratorium – Wirepoints
A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board. That means schools like Manley High School, with capacity for more than 1,000 students but enrollment of just 78, can’t be closed for anther three years. The school spends $45,000 per student, but just 2.4% of students read at grade level.
Dave Wilson. Sorry about your business. Wish I could have been there to stop it. You say ” I could be laying there with 16 shots in me.” True. CPD have shot and killed 4 BLACKS this year already. That’s too many, right Dave ? But over 500 BLACKS have been SHOT and KILLED by other BLACKS this year in Chicago. That’s well over 100 dead BLACKS for every BLACK killed by Chicago Police. Oh well. As I have learned this year BLACK lives matter. But only if they are killed by the police.

It is hard to tell if it is courage or foolishness to reopen in a City where there is no indication your protection in the future will get any better.
The looters made out and so did the cops with all the overtime pay and pension spiking.
Lots of cops will retire soon and move out of state.
