Lightfoot blames ‘99%’ of criticism on racism and sexism – Quickpoint

Phil Ponce of WTTW on Tuesday asked Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot this: “In recent months there have been questions raised about your temperament and your reaction to criticism. A Tribune editorial used the term irascible. How much of this do you think might have to do with the fact that you are a woman and specifically a black woman?”

Lightfoot: “About 99% of it.”

She went on:

“Women and people of color are always held to a different standard,” Lightfoot said. “I’ve known that my whole life…. They don’t like to see a woman assume power and forge ahead on an agenda that is about disrupting the status quo.”

She is mentally ill. And yes, she’s held to a different standard — a lower standard, because Affirmative Action probably got her positions and entry into good college and law school, even though she’s whacked out. Same with Michelle Obama, in 2008 I read her Princeton senior thesis paper and it clearly provides concrete evidence that she’s a hypocritical moron.

Lightfoot has lost her credibility even in mainstream press.

She and Harris, our nation’s two silly affirmative action babes, cackling when asked unscripted questions, framing every issue from their BLM “racism” prism, invariably unaccountable and utterly unqualified for their political positions, not comprehending their bad press, day after day, so resort to labelling all criticism as “Racist”.

Neither woman is a natural politician, both are stumbling badly in their assigned roles. Both are “in it” way way way over their heads.

In one sense Lighthead is correct. She is 99% racist and the other 1% just confused. That’s where you will find the racism.

I don’t understand why she doesn’t quit. She should just apologize for her inability to complete her term and goals. Health reasons, that will kill any further inquiries. Everyone will laugh up their sleeve, and then we move on with the next fool.

Calling anyone who criticizes actions a ‘racist’ is a multiplier of effect (force). One can deny accusations but that makes one sound guilty/or no-one listens/or minds are already made up. How does one use this phenomenon to one’s own advantage? In the immortal words of Don Draper, change the conversation. So the accused (in this case, a Mayor accused of malfeasance) becomes the accuser. She has changed the conversation and no longer needs to defend against charges of malfeasance. As accusations of racism require no due process (accusations of racism are now tantamount to verdicts of guilt), accusers AND would-be… Read more »

There is one person for whom I feel a tad of sympathy: this unfortunate woman’s unfortunate child. Kids don’t choose their parents, who are often a “log” kids drag around all of their lives. Let’s hope the kid is not marinated at home in the vitriol Maw so freely dispenses in public.

How come this Massillon, Ohio, native is never called to account for her vulgarity and profanity? Where did Ghetto Girl learn how to be endlessly incoherent? At the University of Michigan? Or the University of Chicago Law School? The admissions offices of each school have a lot to answer for. She’s gotten as far as she has with so little demonstrated native ability precisely because of her race and sex [ “gender” to the “woke”]. Now she’s damming the very characteristics that got her where she is. What a head case! Alas for Chicago. Don’t send her back to Ohio… Read more »

The winning predators utilize the concept of “force multipliers” in their favor.

Examples:
“Force Multipliers are Good and Must Be Propagated”:…when force multipliers such as supra-legal benefits are accorded (and supra-legal penalties are accorded) based upon what some arbitrary self-appointed Czar dictates as social justice, without due process.

“Force Multipliers are Evil and Must Be Eradicated”…when force multipliers are existential threats to predators in power, such as self-defense weapons which hold sufficient rounds in magazine to be effective against a coerced “army’ owned by predators-in-power (who hold power by virtue of controlling distribution of survival level food/family safety).

So it’s everyone else’s fault. And please explain how she’s disrupting the status quo. Still too many murders, too much violence, too high taxes, poor city services, poor teacher union negotiations, poor police morale, poor fiscal management, poor pension coverage. Yea, someone else’s fault.

As a gay man, I feel *deeply* ashamed that this poor excuse for an elected official is in a powerful position. Her “personality” – such as it is – lines right up with all the old nasty stereotypes of a gay woman that date back to the 1950’s and before. I *cringe* every time I see, hear, or even think about her…I still boggle at the process by how she became Mayor. She’s grossly incompetent – on top of being extremely immature…

Her gayness has nothing to do with her incompetence and as you as a gay man should not be ashamed for a gay woman. It makes no sense. Her problem is that she thinks her gayness is what makes her a good leader when being gay, by any objective reality, is irrelevant to governing a city. Lori’s failures all stem from her confusion that her ‘identity’ was a substitute for competence. Her progressive beliefs inherent with her identity are not tools to govern a major world metropolis. This is ultimately the left’s entire problem. As Tucker once said about Deblasio… Read more »

Lori, Freddie and the Official Government Workers party are ignoring what they prefer not to see.

They are acting like Lord Nelson, who said “I see no ships”, holding a telescope to his non-functioning eye, while hundreds of Danish ships were approaching.

If she believes her 99% observation as to questioners and critics and if one could generalize this belief to the entire non-black non-female population of Chicago (seemingly about 50% white) she appears to be writing off a fairly large segment of the population for whom she wants to be the democratically elected mayor. This level of opposition by one’s constituents ought to prompt even the dullest of politicians to resign and seek a new place to rule.

I think the Peter Principle ordinarily serves to limit the damage of an incompetent, at least when there is a gradual transition to more responsible positions. But in politics, as Lightweight illustrates, it is possible to go immediately from zero to way past where the Principle would have kicked in. It’s really sad that the consequences are so bad, and deadly for so many people.

I am so beyond fed up with being told that I and most of the world are racist. Nobody would ever have heard of Lightfoot or Obama if it weren’t for the fact that most of us show special favor to them because they are black. I agreed with John Kass who was pretty favorable to Lightfoot because he respected some of the hardships she has gone through. And she returns the favor now by calling us racists. Yuck.

What hardships has she had? She’s an affirmative action queen. All given to her because of color, college, law school, us attorneys office, patronage jobs from Daley and Rahm. Big fancy firm due to color and gay. They got rid of her because she was bad, a drunk and constantly played the race card. Won the mayor’s race with help of the media because of color and being gay and RINO Lausch her bff Beverly machine democrat who indicted Burke to take out Preckwinkle, Daley and Mendoza helped her get elected. She is the absolute worse.

So I guess it is racist and sexist to criticize her when she tells the President of the United States to “F– off”. And her no -class, crude foul mouthed tapes of her conversations with aldermen are all criticized because she is black and a woman. And her dismal crime, shooting, car jacking and murder stats are all the results of racism. And it is ok to ban white folks from interviewing her. Lord help us.

She has NO allies in Chicago government. She is one and done if she even runs that is. No way will this misfit win another term. The gay gentleman “GM” above who mentioned he cringes every time he thinks about her because she is a walking talking stereotype of gay women dating back forever is right on the money. Not even the gay community will back this odd duck.

If the criminal enterprise in DC want her to win the election, she will win. When there is no election integrity, and there is no election integrity in IL (Jb enshrined it with drop off ballots) and Chicago in particular, this point is obvious.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
