Daniel May, 19, is the third person accused of shooting or trying to shoot someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for another case. Since 2017, CPD has brought charges in less than 5 percent of non-fatal shootings and 33 percent of murders, according to the city’s data.

Hello, Indiana!

Would the low rate of seeking charges/ incarceration have anything to do with the fact that since 2017, CHI has had mayors Lightfoot and Johnson, Pritzger as governor, Raoul as IL AG, Preckwinkle as Cook County executive and Foxx as Cook County Lead prosecutor? If you can find a bigger cadre of people pushing for empty prisons you must be in NY or CA.
