Johnson has continued to push for the city's 2024 plan of relying on the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority and its 2 percent hotel tax to help fund a new Bears stadium on the lakefront, along with the team paying for a portion of the construction cost.
I listened to that show yesterday. First a publicly owned stadium by the taxpayers. That scares me. At what cost to us. The state is not going to chip in so besides the stadium who pays for the infrastructure improvements. We are still paying for the White Sox stadium. The hotel tax will pay for it. Very speculative. A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
