Mayor Lori Lightfoot says removal of Columbus statues is temporary and was ordered after city received intelligence ‘of great concern’ – Chicago Tribune

“I wanted to make sure we did it as quickly as possible, and we received some information that day that raised some very serious public safety concerns, and I didn’t want to wait,” Lightfoot said.  She declined to elaborate.

Excellent video showing the violence and rioting in Democrat Cities across America, This video shows the Chicago riot around the Columbus statue at approximately 4:39 on the video.

The disrespect of Lightfoot ordering Chicago’s Police to stand down to the animals unleashed upon them. This is lightfoot, in our faces showing her disrespect and blatant hatred to the Chicago Police, Chicago, its law abiding people and America. SEND IN THE FEDS NOW, lightfoot needs to be removed from her office!

Watch on you-tube “Civilization Kenneth Clark and why the Roman Empire fell”. I can’t believe how spot on that is–about how it doesn’t take much to collapse a civilization. It might just be loss of confidence or boredom or in this case young people stuck at home with nothing to look forward to except low-paid jobs and student loan debt.

“”” intelligence “of great concern”””

Reminds me of REO Speedwagon – Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard from another…

First, I assume she means she was handed a folder with “great intelligence”… Great, as in, better than normal? Or great, as in, more than normal? AS an attorney, I would expect her use of language to be more succinct, deliberate, and precise. Well, not really, as she is not of “great” intelligence. Back to the virtue-signalling, KNEE-BENDING act of cowardice… Of course, I mean the removal of those pesky, frightening, threatening statues made of stone that simply sit there as evidence of a moment before the present moment – often described as “history”. Which, like speech, if not an… Read more »

If you have intelligence “of great concern” doesn’t that give you the opportunity to prepare and be able to arrest and lock up those responsible. Oh wait, we don’t do that in Chicago.

The lesson to be learned from this is to protest in front of the mayor’s house and you’ll get your way.

The unhinged coward Groot takes the statue in the middle of the night, then lies about how she bent over for violent radical fascists!

Doesn’t make any sense. So using the same logic, if a building receives a bomb threat should the city preemptively blow it up? You just appeased to the party making the threat! Total lunacy with this woman.

Remember the removal of the statues of Columbus was done FOR YOUR SAFETY. The same excuse used by the Nazis for ALL the atrocities they committed.

Once again she talks out of both sides of h er mouth. The statues will not be returned to their places because she prefers to cater to a small population of so called protesters as opposed to the population as a whole.
Another good reason to move out of Chicago.

This is within the realm of possibility.

The amount of terrorist intel received by law enforcement on a daily basis is overwhelming.

Truth be told she was tired of all the noise and protesting in front of her house. Move the statues problem solved. I guess she was right.

Temporary?
Really? And snow doesn’t melt in the heat.

She gave into the mob who she supports 100 percent. The statues are gone forever. Lori hates white people. This is not over as she will be out of office sooner than later. She will resign. The money people in this town are fed up with her. Something will happen.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
