No. Government protects what private parties build, that was the bargain, we do our part in paying the taxes to support it. The bargain was not honored by government. Therefore government should have no part of any rebuilding discussion, and deciding on the winners and the losers. Government had it’s turn here, and it came up extremely short. Why would anyone believe any future such responsibility would be anymore successful.

You stupid bitch!

Don’t you realize that the only alternative that the people now have is to defend themselves ala the 2nd Amendment? Do you really want civil war?

That is most certainly the direction that you, Pritzker and the Democratic Party are now going.

This is no threat, I am too old for that kind of thing but I am a student of history and you are the closest thing to a Marie Antoinette clone that I have ever seen.

Sorry about that Mark. I used to be a Democrat and well things being what they are, I just kind of slipped back into my old ways.

She is now clearly Lori Lightweight. One more night like last night in Chicago and young people will stampede out of the City. She cant stop the looting and rioting– but nobody even mentions that 82 people were shot and 19 killed just in the normal course of a Chicago weekend. We should have the National Guard out for that reason alone.

I’ve visited progressive websites that spin this crap, saying that the marches, the clean up, the violence and healing will just make Chicago stronger. They actually believe this.

The reality is that the last time this happened, in 1968/69, hundreds of thousands of city residents – and corporations – fled to the suburbs, and Chicago today has fewer residents than it did in 1920. Some suburbs were built specifically to accommodate the exodus of residents out of Chicago, and those suburbs still thrive today.

Lori Lightweight and Leadfoot. I experienced the growth/improvements/beautification of downtown from mid-90’s to recently, including residential influx. It is all being torn apart in a matter of months and debtsor is right, mass exodus will ensue. The neighborhoods are indeed in a perilous place. I knew this Goblin would be trouble from the get-go. Double that sentiment for Jabba.

LORI Lightfoot just gave her speech. She brought up the Red Summer of 1919. Called my Polish immigrant great-great and great grandparents nothing more than a bunch of racists who lynched black people. Lori, your speech backfired when my insulted my ancestor, my people and my relatives, all of whom have been in Chicago longer than 30 years, whose pictures I have hanging in my hallways, and whose gravesites are placed around Chicago. You insinuated that they, immigrant former serfs living under an oppressive Polish King, who had nothing to their namne, were nothing more than a bunch of lynching… Read more »

All she ever does is point fingers. That is literally all she has. And Toni would’ve been worse. Good lord, Chicago.

All the Identity Politicians (of whatever race) know about history is slavery in America (and not even that Africans sold their countrymen and women) and Jim Crow. No other oppression ever existed except what they are trying to impose on America now.

They are espousing marxist ideals. They don’t want a level playing field because they don’t want a playing field at all! They don’t want an economic system – they want equal government handouts for all. If you have property or assets in their domain beware.

This crazy fascist has committed high treason. She has forfeited any claim to being the legitimate mayor of Chicago. Her security detail must immediately place the traitor under arrest

Lori, the issue was resolved a while back – The Civil War. Federal authority is supreme

If she had graduated from a legit law school, perhaps she’d know that. Alas, she went to University of Chicago.

Right……..because you think that looting is a form of social justice perhaps? A form of slavery reparations? Good luck with that Lightfoot.

Let it burn, you bug-eyed fool. Then you’ll point your finger blaming him the next beat. You exhausted your entire disaster plan on day 1 and have been making excuses ever since. The time to draw up a hot bath is fast approaching, empress

A statewide concern: Illinois’ population decline outpaces neighboring states – Wirepoints on ABC20 Champaign

“We are not in good shape” Wirepoints’ Ted Dabrowski told ABC 20 Champaign during a segment on Illinois’ latest population losses. Illinois was one of just three states to shrink in the 2010-2020 period and has lost another 300,000 people since then. Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
