From supporting the weakening of educational accountability to opposing transparency when a teacher is being investigated for sexual misconduct, some of IFT’s stances may concern many Illinoisans, including IFT’s own members.

Probably the same rate at which they get money from lawyers, unions, the hospital association and the medical society. Quelle surprise when legislation gets enacted that sends the money back to them via the taxpayer. As said below “legal bribe” with a very high rate of return.

Designated these teachers unions as political activist groups. They are not labor unions, and haven’t been for a long time. Cap how much they can donate to political campaigns.

Problem is, it’s not just the “highest payer”. The Public Employee (read: Taxpayer Compensated) Unions also give Democrats foot soldiers to get petition signatures, pass out literature on Election Day, make phone calls, etc. Republicans don’t have that “built in” campaign support system.
