More than 38,000 workers have left government unions in Illinois – Illinois Policy

That 9% drop is a strong indication union leadership is out of touch with what members want.

Basic math tells us that if 38K represents 9% of government union membership, there are more than 422K government union members in Illinois. If, as reported by the Department of Numbers website, 6,094,975 Illinoisans are employed, that means 7% of employed Illinoisans work for the government.

The rest of us are in the majority – keep that in mind in November.
