Why would any productive person live in chicago?
This burns me up. And it is so sad. The intellectually disabled man is living independently, holding down a job, and doing volunteer work and needs public transport to get around. Of course, CTA lets him down because it is not safe… and that’s because Chicago is filled with unsafe people….thanks to soft-on-crime policies.
This is a really hostile city and it is just plain scary.
Lived there for decades but won’t go back to visit.
Based on the article, it appears that eliminating guard dogs on CTA could improve passenger safety. Another option might be to permit passengers to bring their own dogs.
That is only the first risk in taking public transportation. You can get robbed and stabbed on the train. The train is not safe enough for most people to send their children on it. The mayor and alderman should have to take it downtown.
They should put video of these assaults in the next NITA transit ad campaign.
