Over 2-in-5 Chicago teachers chronically absent – Illinois Policy

More than 2-in-5 Chicago Public Schools teachers missed 10 or more school days in the 2024-2025 school year; This marks the lowest teacher attendance rate recorded in CPS in nearly a decade. The stats look bad. Quick, change the contract to provide that fewer absences than 15 days aren’t recorded. Problem solved.

These chronically absent teachers should be fired. CPS is over staffed and still using and staffing underutilized schools. CPS is so bad, they had to lower standards. Maybe CTU and CPS should be working on improving education instead of indoctrination.

What? Was someone under the impression that they were actually working? Has anyone actually seen what passes for instruction in the CPS? It’s not teaching. At best, it’s paint by numbers.

Got to love Stacey Gates, she done a great job for the teachers, not so good for the students. But in the education system as set up today, education does not matter.
