Illinois sucks because of the Pension Greed.

No shock there. My husband is currently interviewing for a job transfer to Tennessee. We’ve always talked about leaving IL due to the taxes, politics and weather, but never seriously enough to make it happen. The draconian lockdown and rioting and looting in Chicago gave us the push we needed. In Tennessee our kids can go to school, we’ll save thousands/year in taxes, and we won’t have a Governor who thinks he is King.

Giving a % without the underlying value is lame reporting.

United Van Lines / UniGroup probably did not release the raw data numbers.

The raw data numbers do accompany the annual survey.

Yes the coronavirus has a lot to do with the exodus from Illinois, but people were leaving before.
This is a poorly run state with the people in government caring more about themselves than the people who elected them and those that pay their salaries–THE PEOPLE OF ILLINOIS.
Jabba and Lighthead and all the others are out for their handouts and forget everyone else.
The motto should be –DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO.

The 2020 Miami Report released this summer states that an average of 950 people move to Florida every day and a majority come from high-taxed areas like New York, Boston, California and Chicago, according to the New York Times.
Florida residents pay no state income or estate tax and receive a homestead exemption of up to $50,000 on a primary resident and a three percent annual cap on home assessments.

Best day of your life is the day you leave and never look back.
Your family will thank you forever.
Your children will have an opportunity to get ahead in life.
Florida, great weather year round, no income taxes, low crime.
Illinois High taxes, high crime, and schitt weather year round.

I think we’d see even more exodus drama from UHaul figures…UHaul is a WAY cheaper option for the average person/family – a few hundred dollars (depending) compared to four-figure moving cost for full service companies. We knew of a UHaul rental backlog months ago. Aggregate data 2nd half of 2020 will be daunting.

I was in northern Indiana Saturday night. Coming back was jarring. From Indianapolis Blvd, through Dyer … vibrant, lights everywhere and a functioning economy. Pass the border, dark .. neglected feeling.
This is the future of all of IL, as we stray on the current fiscal path we’re being led on by both our rent seeking parties.
Lifelong Illinoisan, but I am asking myself more and more, why?

Now is the time to join the exodus to Indiana before your life is left in ruins.

Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Gov. Pritzker’s ‘ethics reform’ eliminates competitive elections and choice for voters – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
