Betsy Brantner Smith said there has been an unsettling amount of officer resignations (up 18 percent) and retirements (up 45 percent), making it difficult to protect the streets. We can't get new people to this profession because law enforcement has been lied about," Smith said, adding “we've been vilified. So we're heading we're in a crisis.” Smith also said that police departments in at least 11 cities, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Seattle are severely understaffed, making it extremely unsafe for people.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
That the police can not keep you safe is one reason why the 2nd Amendment exists.
Sounds like it’s only going to get worse in big blue cities. It’s what happens when you let the inmates run the asylum.
