It’s stunning how much hatred Democrat legislators and their voters have against Trump. You’d think they’d look inward and realize, act and improve their hideous, damaging, destructive Agenda and Actions over the last 50 years running and ruining many cities.
But no. Maybe it’s just easier to direct anger and hate towards Trump, instead of getting tough on crime and budgets.

Has any IL or Chicago pol put forth any working solutions to combat the surge in violent crime?

The police superintendent believes that if the police do more community schmoozing this will combat crime … Brown said the unit that patrols parks, beaches and neighborhoods will now also participate in community service projects every week across the city’s neighborhoods as part of the effort to tackle crime and the root of it.

Got it. Let see how more “community service” from the police force works out. I’m sure the cartels and gangsters will appreciate it.

The president wouldnt have any idea what the violence in Afghanistan was like so he cant really compare anything to it.

Maximus – I don’t know what is in Trump’s head and what he does or does not know (maybe you do), but the key question is whether Trump has a factual point. While civil liberties in Afghanistan are lacking, is it the case that certain neighborhoods in Chicago expose one to more risk of violence than, Kabul? Trump might be right, and that that is far more germane than speculation about what he does or doesn’t know. Let me put it this way – I doubt you would like to live in Austin or Englewood.

A few blocks in Austin are nice ʘ‿ʘ, but are susceptible to drive bys ಠ_ಠ.

Chicago would be comparable to Brazil. ಠ﹏ಠ

You’re making an assumption, not knowing at ALL, what Trump knows. I guess you just want to ignore the truth about Chicago: It’s been run by Leftist Democrats for many decades, there’s too much govt, too many govt ees making too much money and getting too much pension and health benefits, and Chicago govt isn’t doing its JOB1 — protecting citizens, getting HARSH on criminals, building more prisons……they have failed Chicago’s citizens BIGLY. And if you don’t realize that, you are about 1% as smart as Trump.

I know Donald Trump didnt serve in any armed forces or see any combat so what is his basis for the comparison? Which part of Afghanistan is he comparing Chicago to? Which part of Chicago is he comparing against? It’s just him talking out loud without offering a solution. Chicago has issues and they wont be solved any time soon.

It is a factually correct statement. Look at the number of annual deaths of U.S soldiers in Afghanistan and look at the number of murders in Chicago. The number of murders in Chicago far exceeds number of deaths of U.S soldiers.

Minimus: Here are my answers to reduce violent crime, and none will be be proposed, much less enacted: 1) Institute quick, speedy trials and death penalty for murder, armed robbery with a loaded gun, and even attempted murder when the victim was only saved by doctors and nurses. Speedy trials and executions when the killer is obviously guilty, such as seen on camera, etc. And no “insanity” defense. Robbery, looting, arson and carjacking: 5 or 10 years in prison and no release until the Criminal gets a GED High School diploma with no breaks on tests. And make the learning… Read more »

The pandering by Pritzker and Chicago Democrats on the constant deadly violence in Chicago shows they are not serious people but partisan hacks.

Actually it reminds me more of the Vietnam war.

The funny thing is that the media that cares so much about “Black Lives”, doesn’t give a rats ass about them once the weekend comes.
