Pritzker announces response to baby formula shortage – WAND (Decatur)

The state is encouraging retailers to set aside formula for low-income Illinois families who are enrolled in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). “We have a special obligation to WIC families. About one-half of babies born in Illinois participate in WIC in the first year of their lives” said IDHS Secretary Grace B. Hou.

“…half the babies…” born in Illinois received WIC?

And no one sees a problem with THAT?

Dependence on government is being a chronic disease in Illinois.

It’s been that way for a long time now. Nearly half of all kids in IL schools get free lunch too. Over half of all students in IL are also minorities.

We are, as a state, through our abortion and sanctuary policies, creating a permanent underclass of forever low income and poorly educated BIPOC, who will forever vote Democrat, as they wait for handouts from the rest of us.

Sometimes I wonder if the Democratic plan is to starve babies if Roe is overturned and they can’t kill them in the womb. Naaaa, that’s toooo evil, right?

So this is what leadership looks like? I agree with the other comments. I’ve been in third world countries. Families go through this very thing, waiting for the government to solve problems and they never do. They keep there citizens on the government string never knowing what the next crisis will be. Our family has twins coming soon

Governor Toilets is diverting baby formula to illegal alien anchor babies. What else do you expect from an amoral piece of shit fraud, who wants Illinois residents to kill their own babies in the womb.

Pritzker never has a solution to any issue. He just makes every issue a race issue. How about you worry about every baby JB? Lately it is one crisis after another with Dementia Joe and his cabinet, which he selected based on attributes other than their qualifications to do the job.

None of the Democrat failures on supply chain, inflation, energy, the border, crime, etc. are by accident. Democrats are INTENTIONALLY remaking America into a Marxist failure like Venezuela.

So if you’re a baby from a lower middle class family, scraping by without government assistance, too bad, you can go hungry. What kind of solution is this? Maybe Americans should go through the southern border and get some formula. Why aren’t we putting ALL AMERICAN babies first.

Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Gov. Pritzker’s ‘ethics reform’ eliminates competitive elections and choice for voters – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
