Pritzker, Lightfoot tout city’s $422 million deal for green energy – Chicago Sun-Times*

Gov. J.B. Pritzker, whose Climate and Equitable Jobs Act laid the groundwork for the agreement, called the power supply contract that will make clean energy the standard for buildings a “model” for the nation. It calls for city-owned buildings that consume the most energy — the Jardine Water Purification Plan, Harold Washington Library and those at O’Hare and Midway airports — to start drawing a healthy chunk of their power from a new solar farm under construction in Sangamon and Morgan counties.

So in other words create more permits that the EPA can pick apart finding minor infractions, thus causing fines, and/or making this so expensive that the costs will inevitably be passed on to the consumer. Got it!

And you think flights are delayed now just wait when there’s no power and I’m not joking did Pritzker do any research into this solar project oh that’s right he did do research into how rich he can become by pushing these renewable energy sources which are not anywhere near ready to handle the full power load, delusional individual he is, November 2022 or we all suffer another 4 years.

See, the city has all the money that it need to fix EVERYTHING.
They just choose to spend it on things that will line their pockets.

Corn sweat. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2022/08/02/corn-sweat-midwest-plains-heatwave/ Farmers are producing a crop that increases humidity levels which increases dew points. Those excessive dew points increases our energy consumption thus our energy bills. Natural gas/electricity bills are going up even without a corn crop so when the crop is growing and getting close to maturing during the hottest months of the year so does out electric bill. Now more than ever farmers are producing a crop that is changing weather patterns around the Midwest. Look at all the flooding in the Freeport area. Up to a foot of rain or… Read more »

This plan is just theater. Can you imagine the efficiency lose in trying to move the electricity over power lines from counties around Springfield to O’hare and Midway? Would these locations shutdown when power lines are downed in bad weather? Pritzker and WTTW (owner of the Sun Times) think we are really stupid, and their suckers.
