Pritzker Offers to Deploy National Guard in Case of CPD Officer Shortages Amid Vaccine Mandate Standoff – NBC5 (Chicago)

Lightfoot said she does not expect shortages of officers, but explained there are contingency plans in place. "I don't want to get into all the details of the contingency plan, but the state police have been incredible partners with us, particularly over these last two years, so if there's a need for us to lean into those resources, then we will."

Pritzker and Lightfoot are embarrassing. National Guard would get eaten alive playing city cop.

She won’t discuss the plans as there are none. If anything happens she’ll just deal off the bottom and run to the Democratic ruled courts.

I thought that the citizen’s wanted the police defunded thereby reducing the police footprint on the ground. Now, even though by other means, the citizens will be getting what they asked for. Why the uproar?

Assuming a fair election without cheating – which cannot be assumed – and a red wave year, like what is coming for the country, there is a good chance a Republican can win the Gov. But it wouldn’t make any difference in the state. The new maps stack the state legislature with Democrats and have removed half a dozen or more safe downstate Republican seats. A Republican gov. would be powerless, probably impeached on some baseless ground (that veto proof majority in both chambers comes in handy!) and so would the Lt. Gov too. The IL Constitution says that the… Read more »

Yeah…those maps are UNREAL. Here’s to a hard, painful crash for the state of Illinoiz. IT’s the only thing that will reset the utter unfairness and stupidity endemic to this (politically) horrible place.

If no heavy hitter Republicans comes forward to run, you’re probably right. I don’t think any of the current crop can beat him.

Yes but he will easily get re-elected simply because the Democrats accuse Republicans of being racist and enough people believe it. If not, than the Democrats will simply not count Republican votes or manufacture more fake ballots to count.

NG is not trained nor equipped to perform municipal law enforcement…

The optics of the NG patrolling in military vehicles will not go over well with the citizenry…

Like an occupying force…

I feel bad for the law abiding residents, who will suffer the most from LL’s prideful strutting around…

Will the guard be armed with more than just side arms? Will the guard make arrests? If so, do they know the law around all that? Will they patrol in squads or will they line up riot / military police state style? Will they shoot in self defense or be emasculated? Will they know how to defuse situations? I think if JB does this its all theater, a symbolic presence, an insult to the troops. Also the thought of military being used as a force against citizens, even when those citizens are criminals, is a road we should never go… Read more »

I would doubt they’d be heavily armed, the gangs would just rob them of their guns.

Lean not just means pretend you’re interested. We went through that gibberish in 2007 where I pretended to work.

We’ve seen enough of Lori’s “plans” to know she has no idea what to do. She is absolutely clueless.

When Trump offered to help the City with federal aid–money, troops and law enforcement — it was flat out rejected. Pritzker and Lori now think it is a good idea– what a couple of two bit phonies. Who votes to put these clowns in office?
