We must protect the musicians, actors, comedians, waiters and waitresses, and gig workers who don’t pay into the system from eviction. Chicago is becoming socialist with more freebies for the permanent victim class.

Our ‘so called’ leaders don’t care. Sad. I fear for my beloved State.

More proof that the state of Illinois thinks it owns you, your property, and your income. Illinois: the most unconstitutional state in the union.

Renters should not have to pay, home owners should have to pay.
Taxes collected no matter what.
This will add to the destruction of Chicago, like throwing gas on a fire.
Landlords should just walk away and let the County and banks own the buildings.
Ghetto housing in Downtown Chicago high rises.

Interesting concept leaving renters become deadbeats with no repercussions. What this might make many landlords do is look for section 8 tenants because section 8 always pays.
Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

It is the government’s job to provide free housing, not the private sector. All this is doing is encouraging real estate investors to buy anywhere but Illinois.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
