Ralph Martire: Mayor Johnson’s $300M property tax hike still won’t fix city’s financial woes – Chicago Sun-Times

How did I miss this latest missive from Ralphie ‘You aren’t taxed nearly enough” Martire? Amid actual budget shortfalls engineered by his pals around Illinois, Ralphie plays the only note on the piano he can see: the key that suggests that Illinois political animals tax the Chumbolones even more.

As usual, Ralphie ignores the other 87 keys, nearly all of which sound the need to cut spending across the board.

A pro tax union shill’s take on a problem fueled largely by public pension debt he has worked hard to expand and single party rule. Johnson could cut the budget, except for fire and police, by, say, 20% (whatever % needed) which would balance the budget and few would notice the cutbacks and the sky wouldn’t fall.
