A statewide concern: Illinois’ population decline outpaces neighboring states – Wirepoints on ABC20 Champaign
“We are not in good shape” Wirepoints’ Ted Dabrowski told ABC 20 Champaign during a segment on Illinois’ latest population losses. Illinois was one of just three states to shrink in the 2010-2020 period and has lost another 300,000 people since then. Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
In China, all foreign companies MUST form joint ventures 50% owned by local Chinese companies. No foreign company can do business in China unless the local Chinese get their cut.
In Chicago, all marijuana dispensaries MUST form joint ventures with persons of color – or just black people. No legal weed seller can do business in Chicago unless local black people get their cut.
So let me get this straight: dudes don’t want to go through the massive amounts of red tape involved in getting this up and running, so somehow the elected officials spin it as racism and lack of diversity? It’s no wonder Chicago and this state are in such bad shape when basic human nature is written off by “leaders” as some sort of anti black agenda.
Also, just to add to this, I have PTSD related to my deployment to Afghanistan and would likely qualify for a medical card. But there’s no way I would even think of applying in this state due to the sheer amount of data it collects on its patients.
Here’s a nice contrast from a state that actually functions.
