"The Republicans’ fundraising base has badly eroded over the years. It has either aged out, and/or moved to warmer climes and more hospitable politics like Florida and Arizona. Once those folks leave, they just don’t care anymore...Adequate, reliable and younger replacements have not yet been found."
Guess what? Since political contribution limits are indexed to inflation, you can expect to see 10-15% increases in caps across the board.

Illinois needs major cap reform, especially on the political action committee front. For example, CTU, IFT, and AFT PAC’s can each give the max contribution of $59,900 to a single candidate even though they are technically the same entity. In fact, all these labor unions also have regional councils through which they contribute as well. It’s all far too redundant and is not in true spirit of what caps are supposed to represent. Republicans can’t raise money in IL. Compared to what, JB Pritzker’s hundreds of millions? The massive donations of various unions to candidates? My goodness, what is Mr Miller to do w/ o any ‘Republicans’ in IL!?
Staying at the Hilton this past weekend I was able to observe some of the thuggery WP reports on. Also, the drag racing out front Friday night was very hard to miss. Hilton is spending a pretty penny on security.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.

IL is lost. The great sorting continues.
