Concerns about widespread benefits fraud, government spending, and the reliability of official data took center stage with Dan Proft and Mark Glennon, as new revelations from outside Illinois renewed questions about similar vulnerabilities within the state. Audio link here.
Note to readers from Mark Glennon re: Ukraine
Everybody needs a side hustle these days, and mine is Ukraine, where I am now.
Audio and summary
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
Normal law abiding taxpayer citizens are starting to get a glimpse of where the higher and higher taxes in IL are going – into Democrat organized fraud. All RICO. There is so much Democrat fraud in sanctuary states that the Mayor of Minneapolis frets about the effect of eliminating the fraud on the economy.
Anybody have the odds on who’s going down first ? Vegas should carry it. Of course Illinois will tax it
The DOJ needs to thoroughly investigate all the fraud in IL. IL refuses to turn over voter roles, Medicaid recipients, and Snap roles. If there’s no fraud, why are Dems refusing allow these lists to be reviewed? Arrest and jail officials who don’t comply with the release of these records? No more taxpayer funded lawsuits to block transparency. While they’re at it, investigate all non profits, daycare centers, health clinics , and HUD finances in IL.
You are right on regarding the need for the Justice Dept to step it up on this fraud. And so far, the US Attorney here hasn’t done much of anything to anybody. So inactive, we don’t even know what his name is.
Imagine the size of the bureaucracy needed to prosecute the fraudsters and then collect the fines and construct the jails to house them – with lawyers on board at every step of the “due” process. Singapore and Shanghai begin to look much more effective. Some very serious deterrence is called for accompanied by blockage of the cash arteries. But voters are either clueless or blinded by imagined short-term self-interest … even assuming elections aren’t corrupt.
Democracy and the rule of law are aboard the runaway train, if not shoveling in more coal.
