ShotSpotter Routinely Missed Reported Shootings, City Data Shows – South Side Weekly

An analysis of public data indicates that ShotSpotter did not alert Chicago police to more than 20 percent of the shootings and reckless firearm discharges that occurred within its coverage area between January 2023 and August 2024, however, which raises questions about how well the company fulfilled its contractual obligations.

We should expect the leftist authors of this missive to not understand how the ShotSpotter system worked, resulting in their laughable complaint that ShotSpotter “missed” around 20% of the gunshots fired in the wholesome, paradise-like neighborhoods of Chicago. These knuckleheads admit that the system detects 80% of the gun discharges in Chicago. These dolts also admit that a .22 pistol shot would not fall under the 90% threshold demanded by the political animals running Chicago (into the ground).
