‘So Excited’: Emails Show Local Librarians Recruiting Drag Performers For Kids – The Federalist

San Jose Public Library children's section Emails show just a few local librarians in Collinsville and Glen Carbon, Illinois, working with other librarians to use their public positions to promote personal causes. The Collinsville and Glen Carbon Centennial public libraries this summer featured three “drag queen storytime” events to promote homosexual “Pride Month.”

I remember when the librarian was a much older woman: Kindly, discreet, unattractive. We didn’t know anything about her private life. We didn’t want to know anything about her private life. She didn’t have a private life. While you’re thinking about that, think about this: The library closes at five o’clock, no exceptions. This is your final warning. Got that, kewpie-doll?

Hey Bookman, I returned Tropic of Cancer. I remember it vividly because I was with Sherry Becker. She wore an orange dress. It was the first time I ever saw her in a dress like that. I noticed since the 9th grade that she was developing this body in secret under these loose clothes for like 2 years. And then one day….That orange dress is burned in my memory.

You think this is all a big joke, don’t you? Well, let me tell you something, funny boy. Sure, go ahead, laugh if you want to. I’ve seen your type before. Flashy, making the scene, flaunting pensions. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. What’s this guy making such a big stink about drag queens? Well, let me give you a hint, junior. Maybe we can live without drag queen story time at libraries, people like you and me. Maybe. Sure, we’re too old to change the world, but what about that kid, sitting down with Latrice Royale, opening a book,… Read more »

I get that you’re all mad at the DG Library but I think it’s amazing. It’s a place where you can go in, take any book you want and they just give it to you and say bring it back when you’re done. It reminds of this pathetic friend that everybody had when they were a little kid who would let you borrow any of his stuff if you would just be his friend. The library is just trying to make new friends in these modern times. That’s what the library is. A government funded pathetic friend. And that’s why… Read more »

This tweet is a page from Gender Queer. This is in your public libraries and your elementary school libraries. This particular page of gender queer has a transboy talking to his sister about tasting their own vagina slime.

This is not the Tropic of Cancer. This is Penthouse.

“Vagina slime?” Can’t believe the crudity of the mob pushing this agenda. Disgusting!

I just twice tried posting a tweet to a page from a book called Gender Q (the word gets caught by sensors) but it is so graphic it gets caught up in the filters. A transman and his sister taste their own…

It’s disgusting, really. It’s marketed to children, not adults.

Sorry debtsor. My post was a response to Bookman. It had absolutely zero political comment as I was just having some fun with Bookman (the library cop) regarding the Library episode of Seinfeld. In fairness, the episode is over 30 years old but I always enjoyed that show.

It’s not a big deal if my posts get caught in the spam filter. I’m sure many consider my many comments to be spam! I post a lot here hoping that maybe, someday, one of the interesting observations in my head makes an impression on somebody in IL who can actually do something.

The Constitution does not say anything about your right to play “dress-up.” It also says nothing about the rest of the world having any duty to indulge your delusions.

The Downers Grove library is very proud to be hosting a Drag Queen Bingo event on October 11th, and they don’t want to hear your voice if you don’t like it. What the hell is happening in this state?

I used to study at the D.G. Public Library when I was a high school and college student. How sad it is to hear they’ve fallen that low.

Last month their staff picks for teen reading were four LGBTQ books. Is that diversity when all four books are about the same subject. Many issues that teens deal with so they could have had a variety of books. It seems they are pushing an agenda at the DG Library.

As a former resident of DG, the good people of DG need to take back their town. There’s a simple solution for this event and similar events in other towns. Just park or drive around the library in your car and keep honking your horn. Make it a rolling party, it will be fun. Not a word needs to be spoken. A non-stop hour of horn honking from 100 cars will be effective and show the good people of DG how many other good people there are. Theres a nice circular counter-clockwise street pattern around the library, but if enough… Read more »

Uh oh, there used to be a bumper sticker that read “Honk if you’re horny.”

Hope the Drag Queen are too young to have heard about it.

Why is it drag queen are always relegated to libraries and story time? Certainly drag queens have other talents and interests. Why not invite the local drag queen to the physics lab to construct a mini Tesla coil? Have drag queens to read AND explain Shakespeare? Are there any drag queen welders out there?

A “career” as a drag queen does not take much “professional” preparation, shall we say. Doing drag is not a real “difficult” thing to do… about like costuming oneself for Halloween, e.g. a child could do it.

Most of the librarians are Alphabet Rainbow people. That’s why they’re pushing this.

QUOTE: “LGBTQIA+ programming for kids always leads to complaints,” Youth Librarian Villet acknowledged…” As a gay guy (in my 60’s, so I’ve “lived through it all”), I find this ‘programming” for young kids pernicious and disturbing – and I also consider it sexual “grooming” – very dangerous, BEWARE! I enjoy seeing a good drag show, but in the adult context of a nightclub – it should *never* be in a school setting It’s one thing to “educate” – as in presenting the fact that drag queens do exist, and drag has a history that can be presented as part of… Read more »

The children’s departments in libraries have been totally taken over by AWFL’s (Affluent White Female Liberals). Someone showed me a tweet from my local library’s youth director and she tweeted something to the effect that libraries were founded on misogynist, racism, and hostility towards gay/trans and that the entire system needs have a revolution. Not the exact tweet but something like this. This person runs the children’s department actively and enthusiastically promotes trans books and gay pride month all summer long instead of just June. For children. The local progressive group got wind that the local conservative group had some… Read more »

Libraries need to provide good mentoring encouraging critical thinking, prudent decision making and support for a growing community (ie. families.). All should vote no on their referendums if they are not a loud and strong voice in support of those goals.

Libraries have evolved into community centers with some books.

Here in Evanston the formerly lovely downtown library has devolved into a homeless “refuge” – the homeless make up the vast majority of EPL “patrons”, and the library leadership encourages this. A pity, it used to be a nice place, now junkies are shooting up in the bathrooms, etc…. 🙁

I’ll say. My local branch doubles as a warming/cooling center for the homeless with bathroom facilities. If the community member can sleep in a chair it’s a Democratic Party trifecta.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
