Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
Most people I talk to had mixed feelings about moving, but zero regrets today. The majority of others are those dreaming and wishing of a day they can leave. I’m honestly not sure we’ve been told the whole story of migration in this state.
Not a single regret about moving and saving over $10K in property taxes, only pity for those who stay, thinking all is good. It’s not the high property taxes, it’s what are you get for those taxes. For $10K less, lower sales taxes, and $2.30/gal for gas, I am getting the same if not better level of services than IL. And, believe it or not, government and politicians are much more responsive to citizens than the stranglehold Democrats of IL.
This will come out in the presidential election, mismanagement ,pandering to certain groups etc and it will be a slap in Putzgers jowls when he loses 49 of 50 states
Astonishingly, Trust Fund is slowly gathering steam as Newsome continues to take hits from every direction and DSA’s like AOC are too far out for many Dems.
The question should be not “why people are leaving?”, but “why are the staying?”. Lots of reasons to leave, but almost none for staying.
In another article, IL is reported to be last on the list of states with fastest growing incomes. 13% rise compared to 43% in GA. Is there any economic measurement where IL isn’t at the bottom? Oh, wait, highest property taxes and pension debt. IL is tops in those statistics.
