Local school district policy is the result of locally elected school boards whose members directly pass policies and approve the contracts of employees who make various rules and decisions. The next school board election (outside Chicago) is Tuesday April 6, 2021. The period to circulate petitions (obtain registered voter signatures) for that election is September 22 – December 21, 2020.
