The astonishing statements from Pritzker and Lightfoot on Rittenhouse verdict – Wirepoints Quickpoint

“Shooting unarmed citizens is fundamentally wrong,” wrote Gov. JB Pritzker in his statement on the Rittenhouse verdict, which is pasted below.

Moment in the video when Rittenhouse shot rioter aiming a pistol at him.

That’s a lie. Pritzker should retract the statement and apologize. One had a pistol pointed at Rittenhouse at the moment Rittenhouse fired, captured in video.

More fundamentally, Pritzker knows full well that it is entirely appropriate and lawful to use a gun in self-defense when facing imminent bodily harm of any kind, which the jury rightly concluded was shown by the evidence respecting each of the three who were shot.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s statement says “we must respect the jury’s decision” but then is somehow able to say “What Kyle Rittenhouse did was reckless, dangerous, and showed an utter disregard for human life.”

That’s absurd. The charges rejected by the jury expressly included recklessly endangering safety and misuse of a dangerous weapon. If you accept the verdict you cannot claim that Rittenhouse acted recklessly or dangerously.

Both Pritzker and Lightfoot went on to express sympathy for those who were shot, all of whom had ugly criminal records. They expressed no sympathy whatsoever for countless victims of the riots.

Lightfoot added, “Let us also remember and pray for Jacob Blake,” who was shot by Kenosha police, sparking the riots.

But both the local authorities and the U.S. Justice Department under the Biden Administration concluded that there is no basis for any charges against the police. That’s because Blake, for whom a warrant was already issued, resisted arrest with a knife.

The Rittenhouse affair occurred because the government failed in its fundamental duty to keep the streets safe and because of constant lies about the Blake shooting by many politicians and most of the corporate media. If further unrest occurs, blame them again — including Pritzker and Lightfoot — for incitement.

The full statements by Pritzker and Lightfoot are below.

Politicians understand that the prodigious volume of pandering, blathering, baseless, contradictory harrumphery they’ve produced has so numbed the citizenry that they can say whatever they want without fear of a lasting, unpleasant, reckoning.

Well do they know, elections come down to a moment of politician-n-media crafted “what have you done for ME lately” myopia that puts the truth in Ambrose Bierce’s definition of democracy.

I wish voters were that independent and objective to actually ask “what have you done for me”, that would mean we get representation on what matters. But I have to disagree, leftist voters are voting on ideology not on factual objectivity. Black is now white, up is now down, male is now female (if you happen to feel that way today as opposed to yesterday). The left votes entirely on the new religion of wokeism, they will follow the narrative of those that change the very meaning of words if objectivity begins to creep in. The left wants rulers to… Read more »

The entirety of the political spectrum – “left” and “right” – largely votes based on how much a candidate claims to have done, or promises to do, for voters enamored of one ideology or another. That, and ego – MY party is XXX, so no matter how disconnected XXX may be from actually doing something I want that XXX has promised, I’m voting for XXX. If XXX nominates Bill the Cat, then Bill the Cat gets 47% of the vote. If YYY gives Fremont the Boy Bug the nod, then Fremont goes into the election assured of 47% of the… Read more »

Do they say what they do to avoid social unrest?  First, take away all security detail for Lightfoot, Pritzker, and for those like them.  Then follow through with getting them out of office.

As is, the jury did the right thing for Rittenhouse and for Kenosha.

Seems to me that the jury’s choice was guilty or not guilty. Those who disagree with the outcome would ask Rittenhouse sacrifice his freedom … but for what end? Vindicate rioters? Justify uncompensated destruction of people and property? Finding another argument for repealing the Second Amendment? “Prove” that it’s a good thing to defund and handcuff the police? Do the mayor and governor really believe what they are saying or are they playing to the ignorant rabble who elected them?

There is natural law and there is man-made law. Every bird in the sky, every fish in the sea, every mammal in the forest and every human has the basic right to defend their own life in the face of another about to take it. This right to self defense is so obviously the first right we all have, the right to life, it precedes any and all other rights. Without self defense vigilantism is the only recourse for those who don’t get a police detail guarding their block. Pritzker and Lightfoot have 24/7 armed protection, for them self defense… Read more »

Incompetence doesn’t cover it. JB had to know the shooting of unarmed people is a flat out lie. The creep who survived admitted on the stand that Kyle didn’t pull the trigger until he aimed his gun at him. Has JB no shame that he can tell an unquestionable lie like that? And if he’s going to tell lies about things that are indisputably false, how much else is he going to lie about?

Apparently FACTS don’t matter, right Lori? More important to virtue-signal to your fascist SJW constituency, because it doesn’t appear Biden will rescue you with a Fed appointment. Lori, you’re perceived as so toxic, even to Biden White House handlers, and less desired than their stone-faced shoplifting ex-communist candidate picked for Fed Comptroller spot. But golden-spoonfed Pritzker probably is intellectually incapable of formulating an opinion not predigested for him by his handlers. He’s merely parroting whatever gets put into his earpiece. The police were called in because Jacob Blake was kidnapping one of his children to extort the recently received welfare support money from his ex breeding partner. The state of WI was supporting his children because he was incapable of doing it himself. This is an income opportunity in ghettos across all big cities. It happened to go way south this time!

Jacob had multiple child support cases pending in both WI and IL. He first had the children in WI. Then he moved to IL to avoid child support. Then when child support cases were filed in IL he immediately moved back to WI to avoid being served in the IL cases. He was going back and forth between states to dodge service in his many child support cases. You can look up the cases in both the Clerk of Circuit Court of Cook County website and on the WI state case look up site. Few people have reported this. Because… Read more »

Had a tense conversation with a couple liberals yesterday. They both asserted the same crap from the media: “white supremacist, had no right to be there, killed unarmed people.” They believed that Rittenhouse had broken the law by being there and that he went to Kenosha ‘to kill people.’ Neither had followed the trial or seen the footage, yet they are STEADFAST in their condemnation. Facts are irrelevant, their gut reaction and media claptrap are all that matter. How are we to deal with such ignorance? Very disheartening. And it is not hard to see why CNN and MSNBC watchers get all jacked up about this. The coverage on those two stations last night was just flat out dishonest. Almost every commentator was African American trying desperately to give the impression that Rittenhouse had shot blacks and that he was a white racist. I can only hope that some big libel and slander lawsuits are coming out of this to at least try punish the media instigators who are responsible for stirring up the trouble.

Kenosha was in flames, the government did nothing for three days, and it took Rittenhouse fighting his way out of mob violence to put an end to it all. In that respect he’s kind of a hero. Our ancestors used to glorify this risky behavoir – the Greek bards sung tales of glory of those who first rushed the walls in a siege and those who courageously jumped into battle at the front of the line. Today’s Democrats glorify the anonymous who cowardly light fires and cause property damage and destruction, like barbarian vandals sacking Rome. And what happened to… Read more »

Mark,
Sandmann sued for 250 million but didn’t settle for that amount with the Washington Post. Most experts believe he didn’t get any more than a nuisance settlement amount. So when you wonder why CNN, Washington Post, NBC and others continue with this horrible reporting it’s because they most likely paid out very little money. They see this as an expense to rile up their base viewers and increase ratings. Until they are actually forced to pay real damages this will continue.

It was great watching Trump pull petty punches against our enemies in the culture wars; but it’s awful watching the tables turned as our enemies pull those same punches against our own. Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification.
