Rail/vehicle and rail/pedestrian strikes are pure awfulness. Riverside has a triple tracked serious piece of railroad running through it, so Chief Weitzel unfortunately had more than his share of calls to rail/vehicle or rail/pedestrian incidents. Alas, after the required investigation, it is nearly always a case of a person or vehicle in the wrong. Train crews are significantly traumatized by these events.
