"In Illinois, Dreamers have paid more than $400 million in federal, state and local taxes. During the global COVID-19 pandemic, more than three-quarters of DACA recipients in the workforce, or 343,000 people, were employed in jobs deemed essential to keep our country running and our nation safe."
I actually agree that DACA individuals should be given a path to legal residency and citizenship as should spouses of US citizens. Trump even allowed Congress to legislate for the former when he put a one year expiration date on Obama’s executive order, but the at the time Democrat led majority in Congress failed to do so. Are the Democrats really for this or just to hoodwink the electorate that they have their back?
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
