“For years, Illinois has refused to mandate voter ID, a commonsense election integrity measure. The State also insists on counting mail-in ballots received long after election day, a controversial practice that is subject to ongoing litigation,” states a letter sent by Illinois Republican congressmen.
The sent a “permanent” mail in ballet elective to my daughter whose lived in Florida for over 3 years, has a Florida license, pays taxes, etc there. Clearly the state has no idea who’s actually in or legal in the state.

At least Mary Miller is keeping this conversation going. How could they possibly verify all the mail in ballots were cast by citizens? How many “voters” have already left the state or country?
I guess you could start with deceased people voting, votes from nonexistent / bogus addresses , multiple ballots with the same name, etc. Of course, the updating of the voter rolls, which IL refuses to do, would catch a lot of this. I’m not in favor of the Feds running state elections, but if states continue to refuse to do even the basics to prevent fraudulent ballots being cast, then something has to be done.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
