Number of half-empty Chicago public schools doubles, yet lawmakers want to extend school closing moratorium – Wirepoints
A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board. That means schools like Manley High School, with capacity for more than 1,000 students but enrollment of just 78, can’t be closed for anther three years. The school spends $45,000 per student, but just 2.4% of students read at grade level.
Our kids just finished college a couple years ago. Im one of those idiots that scrimped & scrapped to make sure they didn’t graduate with a lot of debt. One of them lived at home while going to college to save $… so if washington forgives student debt, the message sent to familes like mine–YOUR TOTAL CHUMPS!! just like being a 2nd class ( non machine) citizens in Illinois. But bigger issue is cost of college is an absurdity, especially for illinois state univ…a giant bailout for all the undercompinasted folks at u of i no dought
It’s one common consequence of Progressive’s ignorance about basic economics. They just don’t understand what’s actually progressive and regressive, and they rarely make the effort to understand.
The real issue that should have been decided on by the Supreme Court LONG AGO is equal protection for earners. Progressive or graduated tax schemes are UNCONSTITUTIONAL as they discriminate based on class. The very definition of PERCENT is that it is normalized = fair. You make more, you pay more. Not you make more, you pay EVEN more.
This fact and that it hasn’t been touched is an example of demon creep, which is what we see as bureaucrat creep. It’s demonic.
Again, imagine what the founding fathers would do to the seditious and insurrectionist politicians. Infringement on #2 and now the censorship of #1 by big tech and the deep state propaganda of project mockingbird is outrageous. And. Nobody. Does. Anything.
