This is really a good program where Federal tax paying individuals can contribute for scholarships to private schools at no out of pocket costs for them. The issue to be placed on the ballot was passed by the County I live in. Interestingly, in Committee, member Allison Lamothe, voted against the measure because it came from Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill act. I assume that many other County’s are taking a similar stance that since this program arose from Trump’s bill it must be bad and therefore the people should not be allowed to vote on it. People in only 1/3 of the counties in Illinois have a say in this issue. Why? Why shouldn’t all tax payers have a say in whether more and more money is taken and spent on “education” with crappy results. I am sure the counties selected provide the best chance of getting it passed…yep, that seems fair. Pathetic.
