Votes are there to rename Lake Shore Drive for DuSable over mayor’s objections, alderman says – Chicago Sun-Times*

“We will be seen as an even greater city. We’ll be even more marketable. In this day of Black reckoning and really trying to understand our history and stand up to all of the racial barriers of the past, this would be a great time to say that Chicago is a diverse city and we celebrate diversity and we understand that it only makes us stronger,” Ald. Sophia King said.

We already have DuSable Harbor. Please explain why DuSable gets a better rap than Columbus. Neither came for the express benefit of indigenous peoples. Why is DuSable holy but Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington get cancelled? Who among them was perfect?

Just rename LSD ; Bessie Coleman Drive, problem solved. Some road at ORD shares the name already? How about Bessie Coleman Drive Two. Problem solved, everybody happy except Lori; she never happy.

Since Sophia King took down the Columbus statues because the domestic terrorist organization blm and antifa demanded it, the south loop has become increasingly unsafe. She is now showing her hatred for everything white by forcing the renaming of lsd. She is a hypocrite of the highest order because she was appointed by Rahm. She voted always with Rahm and Rahm let her husband off of serious ethical lobbying violations. Now she is a progressive, cop hating, pro criminal loon who wants to defund the police. She is probably trying to run for mayor. She took thousands in campaign cash… Read more »

From Alderman King’s perspective, this is a great idea if the purpose is for BIPOC, with a majority in the City Council, to remind whites that they no longer control Chicago. BIPOC is merely forcing whites to recognize BIPOC authority, and is now ready to collectively punish whites by changing the name and address of some of the world’s most iconic residential real estate. BIPOC wants you to know that they will take whatever they want from you, the whitey, because the 200 year history of whites oppressing Chicagoans is over. You best sell your condo on DuSable Drive and… Read more »

Sophia King needs to be investigated for campaign contribution and lobbying violations by her husband. But Ferguson and RINO Lausch the Beverly democrat will never investigate.

Excellent comment. Taking bling from whitey pays, and is 100% socially acceptable, fools. Have some backbone people, do any of you have a shred of moral authority left?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
