Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. In many places of employment, we know it is the “Gutless White Man” problem. No white male wants to get tagged as a racist , sexist or homophobe. So when you have a minority employee that is just worthless and you want to get rid of him/her, rather than just firing them which is the right thing to do, you move them to another spot, maybe in a different department, get them a raise, and do whatever you have to do to make it look like a promotion. The problem is out of your hair, but another unqualified employee gets… Read more »
People need to put pressure on their local government officials to ignore the lawlessness of this tyrannical Governor. Local elected officials need to man up, find a spine and represent the people closest too them. Our local City, Town, Townships and Counties have gone along with this far too long.
But no cowardice from the start by Wirepoints! You were the first to speak up when crazy New Trier did that Seminar Day. That’s when this all started.
Every freedom loving man and woman needs to start challenging. If only in little ways like not wearing a mask forcing others to indicate that you forgot your mask. Give your school boards living hell is another way. Yes it takes courage, time to man up.

I’m hoping that soon, the culture decide they’ve gone too far, and the blow back will be swift and harsh. It’s happened before when there’s a tipping point and people just get fed. So many of us are sick of living in the woke world.
Hoping “others decide they’ve gone too far” is a recipe for failure. Every individual needs to muster up the slightest bit of an actual challenge. For me its the two dozen shopping trips I’ve made to WalMart without a mask since the mask mandate, and have yet to be confronted. Its grilling your school board. Its supporting small businesses that take the mask signs off their doors and not patronizing the ones that still have it. Its really not a big hop from hoping to doing, once one does something small. When young I challenged a lot, doing donuts on… Read more »
Yes, but sometimes taking off the mask in northeastern IL is liberating for you, it’s like peeing in the wind for the cause.
