Videos and pictures don’t lie. They were easily found on the internet again late Saturday night in another round of vandalism and hatred for cops in downtown Chicago.
But if you saw those videos then surveyed the news Sunday morning you’d think you woke up in a different city.
Take a look at a few of the videos and pictures linked here:
But nothing of that in the regular media. The only reports so far from NBC Chicago, ABC Chicago and CBS Chicago mostly say it was another peaceful “protest.” It may have started that way but that’s not what it became later — anything but safe.
Among the cries from the mob was “Free Palastine.” That’s no surprise since BLM Chicago recently went on a Twitter binge against Israel and its connections to Chicago, likening the BLM’s mission to the Palestinians’. BLM has a long history with anti-Semitism, summarized here. The Chicago Tribune union recently tried to display its abhorrence of anti-Semitism, but have they ever once written on that? Nah.
Saturday night was not unusual. As reported by CWB Chicago, the alderman representing much of downtown has requested more police officers to combat increasing lawlessness that occurs downtown overnight.
He blames curbside parties where hundreds of people congregate between midnight and 4:00 a.m., “when literally nothing is open downtown.” Overnight crime downtown is “totally unacceptable,” the alderman says, and deserves immediate attention.
And it deserves immediate press attention, he might have added.
