I recently had to go to Springfield for business; it was my first time there in decades. Man, the Democrats have absolutely wrecked the place. It’s just a shadow of what it used to be.Downtown is basically abandoned. I’d guess at least half the buildings are vacant. They let government workers stay home during COVID, and most never came back. There are vagrants and homeless people on every corner. The smell of weed is everywhere and overpowering. Just there, Springfield, Illinois, to visit the Lincoln Museum. Parked and tried to,figure out the parking meter situation and found out that the meters have not been in operation since 2021. No money to fix them, too many broken. The guy I asked just shrugged his shoulders, shook his head and said it was just Springfield being Springfield.
