Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
I am curious what side of the negotiation table he will sit on. As mayor he should represent all the citizens of Chicago not just a select few. Will he give into the demands of the union who helped get him into office or will he side with taxpayers so that a fair contract can be negotiated when that happens. If I were in his shoes I would try to have transparency so everyone knows the details before ratification. This is lacking statewide and should be at the forefront.
If new ctu contract includes changes to pension benefits, then at/on that point Brandon’s negotiating 100% with himself i assume?
The voters wanted him in the mayors office for the next contract negotiation. If he gives away too much the voters are more than capable of voting him out. He didn’t state he would recuse himself in his platform so why expect him to do so now. Elections have consequences.
And so do stolen elections…
Recusal? How dare you attack the CTU! Brandon will be sitting on the CTU’s side of the table and there’s nothing you can do about it!
Yep, I expect the Chicago taxpayers to be abused now more than ever.
It’s not abuse when it’s consensual. This is what the voters wanted. You’re not a victim if you change your mind in the morning.
