Wirepoints joins IL Freedom Caucus Reps Miller, Wilhour & Halbrook for townhall discussion on Gotion Inc.

Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon joins IL Freedom Caucus Reps Miller, Wilhour & Halbrook to talk about the latest developments in the Gotion controversy. Gotion Inc., a company with ties to the Chinese Communist Party, is set to receive $8 billion in taxpayer subsidies to build a $2 billion battery factory in Manteno, Illinois.

On September 8, Governor JB Pritzker announced a deal with Gotion Inc., a Chinese company, for the construction of an electric vehicle (EV) battery factory in Manteno, Illinois, a small town southwest of Chicago.

The factory will cost $2 billion to construct, but Gotion Inc. is set to receive $8 billion in taxpayer subsidies: $500 million from Illinois taxpayers and a massive $7.5 billion from the federal government. All to a company with ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

That’s one of the reasons why Manteno’s residents are so upset. And they aren’t the only ones. Gotion’s relationship to the CCP has inspired an effort by concerned Michigan residents to block Gotion from making a similar investment in their state. And a U.S. House committee is currently investigating Gotion’s plans to expand in America using taxpayer dollars.

The citizens of Manteo are right to ask the questions that need answering by Pritzker and others. Why are we giving $8 billion in taxpayer dollars to a company with Chinese Communist ties?

Unbelievable this is happening! But believable with Pritzker negotiating it. And what do Illinois taxpayers get from this “communist business”? We get to subsidize it…
No! Stop the madness! Stop bullying residents of Illinois and using our tax dollars to promote/support evil!

You have to pay people to start a business in Illinois, otherwise no one would.

What you describe is TIF; as executed in Illinois TIF is entirely corrupt and thoroughly destructive to the community/ politicaloutsiders.

Next time Pritzker does one of his morality lectures, ask him why he is the compliant prostitute for the Chinese Communist Party that has killed over 40 Million people and is still waging genocide against Uighur Muslims.

Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
