None of these apply in my downstate utopian area but we did get the new grocery tax and we will pay more for gasoline to help out the Chicago transit system. Please don’t say that some of that gasoline tax will go to local transit systems because we already have plenty of empty busses crisscrossing the county as it is. I am thankful though that we didn’t get Pritzker’s progressive income tax but that just might be a temporary thanks.

More than a few of these supposed “ blessings “ are dubious once you get beneath the surface and some also only impact a limited area. When one considers the big picture in IL for most of us as compared to surrounding states, it really isn’t worth uncorking champagne over.

When I wake up in the morning, it’s the thought that I live in state that grows the most pumpkins that always puts a little jump in my step.

Break out the bubbly, this is the salvation
of Illinois. wrong!
we are so fu__ up that it will so much more
and we need to get rid of so many socialist before we can right the ship.
The taxes will sink us before we can fix this state,
property, gas, sales, utility taxes and many more need to be lowered. Employers welcomed not taxed to death. Years will pass if it can be fixed.
Do people ever proofread what they post? I’ve been seeing this more often. It’s like they use spell check and if everything comes back OK they post it. That’s my point.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

We have a Lamont,Il?
Lemont. Did you make a real point? Or was this something else?

Actually, the article itself references Lombard.
I noticed that to. Lamont was in the headline and didn’t say anything about Lemont.
