The single biggest source of coronavirus infections in Illinois are federal, state and county prisons and jails. An outbreak at Naval Station Great Lakes naval base has been Illinois’s second-largest outbreak, accounting for 409 positive cases, which had not previously been made public.

Circuit Judge Raylene Grishow cited testimony at a House executive committee hearing where Rep. Kelly Burke, D-Evergreen Park, specifically said the proposed law did not apply to private businesses or local governments. She also said the law would be an unfunded mandate on municipalities if Election Day were a holiday for them.

“For what it’s worth, Illinoisans who have contacted us this election season have made it pretty clear they believe the state’s corrupt culture transcends everything. And while we know that wealthy conservatives have been bankrolling the campaign against Gov. J.B. One hockey mom bristles at the thought of non-contact hockey being classified as a higher risk than basketball, something the daughter of IDPH director Dr. Ngozi Ezike plays. “It’s absolutely insane to me that basketball could be medium risk and hockey is a higher risk but when your daughter plays, that’s what happens because this is Illinois politics.”
