Court says cities don’t have to close on Election Day – State Journal-Register (Springfield)

Circuit Judge Raylene Grishow cited testimony at a House executive committee hearing where Rep. Kelly Burke, D-Evergreen Park, specifically said the proposed law did not apply to private businesses or local governments. She also said the law would be an unfunded mandate on municipalities if Election Day were a holiday for them.
