So 80,000 people have fled IL. Such a small number of souls can easily be replaced by the current influx of illegal immigration. The head count on the census is what’s important when claiming Federal dollars. Anybody ever read Gogol’s “Dead Souls?”
To an Illinois Democrat the more taxpayers that leave the better because they are easily replaced with illegal immigrants that represent future Democrat party voters. The Democrats can then use Illinois’ electoral votes as a lever to get assorted giveaway monies from the DC Democrats.
It is hopeless and will never be changed until the state finally and totally collapses.
Mass immigration will put the entire country under Democrat rule. There is no fleeing to other states that will make you free. There’s also no fleeing to other countries like Canada, Australia, or Europe, unless you’re talking about Poland or Estonia or some other country that regulates immigration. I guess you can do what John Cleese did and move to the Caribbean, thereby giving up on preserving Western civilization.
You are both correct but don’t forget one thing, those people coming here came from Socialist and Communist countries that taught them to hate that form of government. They are coming for freedom, the type no Democrat can give them and they can smell lies, half-truths and recognize stupid arrogant Democrats from a mile a way. All we need to do is get to them first and teach them our founders vision and they will come to our side and one day be a formidable force.
