Let’s be honest here: was anyone truly expecting a Republican to win a statewide race? I believe I said Bailey’s best outcome was 46% tops and, guess what, non-JB guv candidates got 46%. All the other statewide Republicans did marginally better than Bailey but not enough to move the needle. Did Bailey’s presence bring them down? Would they have faired better w/ Irvin on the ticket?
