Illinois has for the first time in 17 years managed to stem the tide of outbound migration, with roughly the same number of residents in 2025 moving into Illinois as those moving out. That’s according to the annual Migration Patterns Study released this week by Indiana-based moving company Atlas Van Lines. The same report found that about 50% of Illinois residents would choose to leave the state if they could for tax reasons alone.
Plenty of states are thriving and we need to follow their governors’ leads:
– eliminate property taxes
– Ten Commandments in schools
– outlaw abortion
– Turning Points chapters in schools
– outlaw pro-trans propaganda
– outlaw pornography
– outlaw no-fault divorce
Heh, I’d move back to Illinois just to vote for him if that was his platform. Decency and traditional family values need to be brought back.

Atlas found out that while 56% of people moving out is statistically even with 46% of people moving in which I find interesting to say the least. I am not certain how that can be and we certainly can not expect Crain’s to do any digging into the matter as it toes the usual lines of the Illinois media. My suspicion is though that total residents are involved in the statistics that, you guessed it, includes Pritzker’s beloved immigrants. With that in mind it befuddles me how Pritzker gets the support that he does with Illinois voters especially at tax… Read more »
Exactly. 56 to 46 sure isn’t even. Also, all moving has been way off in the last year, thanks to the sclerosis caused by people staying where they are to keep their low mortgage rate.

Crain’s leads the Useless Chicago Media in the defense of Illinois’ scoundrel political animals. This time desperately spinning a net zero outmigration number (only from folks employing Atlas Van Lines to move their stuff out of Madiganistan) as a win. Let’s not forget that Crain’s is a lead apologist for the mendacious mismanagement of JB the Hutt, Mayor Cliff Notes and Boss Preckwinkle. Let’s wait to hear about the continued tax filings decline from Illinois from the “ever wholesome and trustworthy” IRS.

As the article notes, “overall mobility remains low today” because of low inventory and high costs. In plain English, because the rah-rah cheerleading Crain’s would never tell you the truth, the housing market has collapsed in Illinois, much as it has around the nation. For instance, mortgage rates remain stubbornly high, with the average 30-year fixed rate around 6.2% to 6.3% as of December 2025, more than double the lows near 3% in 2021, pricing out millions of potential buyers. Compounding this, mortgage origination volume has plummeted to historical lows, dropping from a peak of $4.51 trillion in 2021 to… Read more »
Leaving Soon, just not soon enough

Higher incomes and job creators are leaving in large numbers. Illegal immigrants with no education and no job skills are replacing them. Taxes are going higher and higher so more people will leave. Illinois used to be a great place to live before the public sector destroyed it with huge pensions and ever-increasing taxes to pay for them.

Great news! Everyone leaving by UHaul is being replaced by someone arriving on a midnight Biden flight.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

I don’t think Ted is promoting any of your ideas. Completely unrealistic but it’s fun to play pretend.
Aaron, don’t post false things about what any candidate endorses or we will block you.
