Many other groups are fighting back in Illinois, and for that we’re thankful. – Wirepoints

It’s tough work, day in and day out, to take on the dishonesty of Illinois’ ruling political class. Those in power refuse to tell the truth about the policies hurting Illinoisans – whether on crime, migrant costs, failing schools or worsening job opportunities – so the burden is on us to tell it like it is.

Fortunately, there are many other groups fighting back or allowing the truth to be heard, groups that we cooperate with. And for that we’re thankful.

Take our activities during the last two months alone.

Twice the Southland Black Chamber of Commerce invited us to Chicago’s south suburbs to lament Illinois’ destructive property taxes, and to explain what residents can do about them.

At the University of Chicago’s invitation, we warned business leaders attending the Booth Conference on Real Estate about Chicago’s potential doom loop

We joined liberty-loving Illinoisans at the annual Freedom Summit and showed them how to best market the facts against the status quo.

We joined Decatur’s Restore Our Constitution group to discuss the city’s failed public schools and why school choice is so vital.

We were asked by the citizens of Glencoe to explain to them the potential impact of Home Rule.

The Wheeling Township Republican Organization helped us to expound upon the many crises facing Illinois and Chicago – and to explain the opportunities those crises represent.

The University of Chicago’s student publication for free thinkers, Chicago Thinker, honored us to speak at their reception for graduating seniors, with free speech dominating the discussion.

We also continue to engage with those in the media willing to ask questions – and to get the answers from us. From the national stage of the Wall Street Journal to local TV stations and radio programs, we’re getting the facts out there.

Importantly, we’re engaging the all-important Hispanic community through voices like Univision anchor Enrique Rodriguez. He’s willing to champion the hard facts, especially about Chicago’s public schools.

And that’s just a sampling of our cooperation and outreach.

When Illinois finally turns around, it will be because the people and organizations like the ones we work with finally unite and push back against the establishment using simple, unassailable facts.

We look forward to that day, and we thank all of the fellow reformers, readers and supporters who are working to make that happen.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Wirepoints.

While I appreciate the fight these groups do, I often wonder if that energy expended in a swing state could do more good. The Republican senate candidate in our neighbor to the north lost by 29,000 votes. If half the voters in my local Cook County Township moved 60 miles north, we’d have 54 Republican senators instead of 53. That’s all it takes. Instead, we spend so much energy here in Illinois and NOT A SINGLE SEAT CHANGED anywhere in the state. Not one. How much more work needs to be done to fix Illinois? Is it even possible?

Until Cook County voters figure it out the whirlpool of destruction will continue to increase as those voters will vote for anyone with a “D” behind their name be it a cockroach, a crook, an incompetent or a person suffering mid stage Alzheimer’s Disease.

In Illinois if you aren’t a public sector union parasite then you have three choices: 1. Continue to be stolen leeched upon and thieved. 2. Fight to destroy the public union/government/ democrat politician criminals conspiracy. 3. Leave.

Please apply to DOGE. They’re frequently posting statistics on specific incidents of government waste/inefficiency/corruption such as you regularly produce .

Thank YOU!

Please continue the “good fight” on behalf of sane Illinoisans.

Hoping for the best, but accustomed to the worst from the Illinois political class; we can only hope AND support our surrogates like Wirepoints … who are NOT stupid chickens.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
