Illinois does not have right to give away more than its pre allocated Lake Michigan water according to a US Supreme Court case – there are Great Lakes agreements protecting the water and Illinois cannot choose to ignore them as it deems convenient. So all these people thinking data centers are the answer to chronic unemployment and government overspending should reassess their support when their faucets have no water coming out.
