Like anyone who holds a government office in Illinois cares. Somehow you continue to think that Illinois politicians care if people get killed. They don’t and they don’t care about guns. Most of the biggest dem mouthpieces own guns. Nothing wrong with that, but they use guns as something to get their idiot base to vote for them. I know personally of at least two democrat mouthpieces that have large gun safes in their homes in Wisconsin that hold their AR’s and several guns in Illinois. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Democrats judge things on feelings, not facts. Facts just confuse Democrats worldview.

Somewhat related to this article: Chicago Contrarian founder Sohnke on high homicide clearance rates: ‘It was a complete lie.”
According to this Aug. 16 article, Mayor Johnson publicly claimed his administration drove homicide clearance rates to 72%, but Chicago homicide detectives privately told him the real number is under 25%.
Johnson knows nothing about crime prevention but he does know how to lie.

DeSantis is a great governor!!!!

On the other hand, Pritzker signed the SAFE-T Act–a happy sounding piece of legislation that allowed violent repeat offenders back on the street asap to assault, rape and murder. Pritzker even took a photo op with a “peacekeeper” who was charged with murder, burglary, and retail theft a week after the picture was taken.

The depraved indifference to crime in Chicago makes me sick. I felt powerless against crime when I lived in Chicago. The only thing I could do was vote with my feet and leave.

In an average year, Florida records over 3,100 total gun-related deaths. Roughly 35% of these fatalities are gun homicides, while about 63% to 70% are gun suicides, meaning firearm homicides account for approximately 1,100 to 1,200 deaths annually.

Australia’s firearm fatality rates are substantially lower. Between July 2023 and June 2024, 206 people died from gun‑related injuries, of these deaths, 31 were classified as firearm homicides.

According to CBS “Violent crime rates in the U.S. have plummeted, with the nation’s murder rate reaching a 20-year low in 2025 and violent crime overall showing the biggest one-year drop on record, according to data released Friday from the FBI’s annual crime report.” Clearly Trump’s promise to reduce crime has worked. Our Second Amendment rights are supported by Trump as well as FBI statistics regarding crime and perhaps issues in Chicago would be better suited by focusing on things like reinstating the Shot-Spotter and elimination of the Safe-T-Act.

That plummet hardly correlates to anything done by split term Trump, with Covid thrown in. Removal of lead from the environment, rampant surveillance and vastly improved forensics (including DNA) probably have more to do with the crime drop.

Chicago is right next door to Indiana, ask the Bears.

You don’t support reinstating Shot-Spotter and the elimination of the Safe-T-Act?

An inconvenient fact, so smother it by adding suicides into the mix. Then pivot to Australia and pretend it all makes sense.

Clearly you are very experienced in creative illogic.
