Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
It is always Trump’s fault and not the illegals in the country that are likely avoiding paying federal and state taxes. And sales taxes paid with taxpayers handouts does not count as “taxes” in my view.
They have no business being in the country, let alone getting instate tuition. Politicians seemingly can’t give residents enough reasons to move out of the state.
Next up Pritzker unveils a new targeted scholarship program with a cute catchy name that will be targeted at certain unrepresented groups in the name of “Equity.” Naturally the immigrants will be labeled as a “most” underrepresented, impoverished or something another to assure their heavy participation in this new political endeavor. The liberals will support it gleefully as they will feel they are not only getting back at Trump but also ease their guilt feelings of past so called inequities. This is Illinois and in Pritzker’s Illinois immigrants are a very well taken care of…why would I expect anything different?
It’s about time that the law found for legal taxpaying citizens not law breakers, I hope this and other gravy train grifts will cease.
Why should a parent who has paid taxes to support these schools for 18 yrs watch when their kids are old enough to go there pay the same as an illegal who hasn’t been here 18 months
The state could provide in state tuition to those not legally here if they chose to abandon the premium for out of state students..No chance U of I would ever opt to do that.
