Wirepoints’ Matt Rosenberg joined WXAN radio host Will Stephens to talk about the “mass “incarceration” myth that’s promoted in Illinois and across the nation. He points out that less than 0.56 percent of the adult population are in jail, and even when those on parole or probation are added the total share is still less than 2 percent.

You think half a percent is small? Are you kidding? Is a half – percent of anything no big deal? What if 1 out of every 200 airplanes crashed? Would that not be a serious crisis for aviation? The adult population essentially generates 100% of GDP. So, in dollar terms, one half of a percent of adults behind bars is over 1 trillion dollars in production lost per year – not to mention the trade-offs in consumption incarceration forces us to make. Why do the lefties push the mass incarceration narrative if it’s not true? How come it takes Wirepoints to expose this? If journalism is so corrupt and lazy, why don’t any of our politicians use their bully pulpit to actually tell the truth? Why do they all insult our collective intelligences? Number of half-empty Chicago public schools doubles, yet lawmakers want to extend school closing moratorium – Wirepoints

A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board.
