"This budget is so bad that one editorial won’t cover all its flaws.... At the end of the day, a signal this negative to investors and existing businesses simply will lead to more future budget shortfalls as the city’s economy falls into recession. Chicago needs to be open for business. Right now, Mayor Johnson is saying — in deeds, not words — that the city that works will make it as expensive as possible to bring workers. Rivals will be rubbing their hands."

Who is one of the fattest cats in Chicago? The governor. Yet all of his income comes from trusts, capital gains, offshore investments, and gambling. He does not run a business, so no head tax or cloud computing. So Pritzker is untouched by any of these tax increases, yet the very fat cat that Johnson thinks should pay more.

Did they ever really believe otherwise? If they did, I really wonder how they became business leaders. Chief Financial Officer Jill Jaworski says the city has other priorities than paying pensions which is as true as it gets, but the union and democrat masters have created a system where that is just not the case. The unions have bought and paid for these politicians and they are not going to let them touch the pension obligations so corruptly obtained by even one cent. So that leaves taxpayers .Most of the stupes that reside in Chicago can’t be squeezed any harder… Read more »
