With $162 billion more from taxpayers, couldn’t you deliver a few bond upgrades, too
This is why this will probably pass. Everyone just buys the sales pitch then pulls the lever. And will vote for anything that is in the “yes” column.
That’s not true. In 2012, the state tried to add an amendment to the constitution that would require the GA, city councils, school districts etc… to obtain 3/5 vote (instead of simple majority) to increase pension benefits. Obviously this would have made it more difficult to increase pension benefits. The voters rejected that amendment and voted No. The voters decided it was better for the state to allow a simple majority to increase benefits.
They vote No on the stuff they don’t like. If this passes, it’s because that’s what the voters want.
That 2012 amendment was a big nothingburger. Even IPI opposed it.

Voters know Springfield is corrupt and most reject amendments to the IL constitution. Voters know that changes aren’t going to be for their benefits.
Interesting that even black folks on wvon are sick of ctu’s hustle
Stop listening to the carnival barkers and vote yes for a strong middle class. Vote yes 4 workers.
The rich fat cats are against it so you know it’s a great deal for workers. Vote yes on amendment 1.
It’s the incisive analysis of our critics that is always so devastating. I just don’t know how we can survive this.
